Parks and Recreation | As previously scooped by TVLine, Leslie’s run for office will hit a bump in the season finale, and you can pin the blame on — you guessed it — resident punching bag Jerry. Asked to elaborate on the “mishap,” Jim O’Heir says, “Something that Jerry was supposed to do didn’t happen, and because of it there’s the potential for disaster. He doesn’t do something that was one, obvious, and two, just should have been done.” Meanwhile, in this Thursday’s penultimate episode, you’ll see O’Heir take what was one of about 12 pies to the face, as Andy tries to recreate a “crime” perpetrated at a campaign event. “We had a blast shooting that one,” raves O’Heir. “[Chris] Pratt’s crazy, I’m crazy…. We love doing stuff like that.”

Eric G.: Parks and Rec finale scoop! Leslie wins, right?
They probably filmed her winning the election, because Parks and Rec shot two endings to the finale. But will the winning one be what they go with come May 10? “I think either way, and I know which way [it ends], will be really satisfying,” Jim O’Heir tells us. “My opinion: Either way has a nice, smooth transition.” All that really matters is Ben and Leslie getting married and having a thousand babies together, a fact we brought up to O’Heir, who smiled like he knew something we didn’t. “I think [they're] a good combo. Who else could handle her craziness?” Beslie forever!

“He’s finally found peace with his relationship with Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones), and Millicent (Sarah Wright) he’s gotten over,” Lowe says of his character’s past romantic intrigues and teases that Chris will become quite taken with a new lady in the final string of episodes. “Someone is going to come across his path in these last few episodes that’s going to rock his world,” he coyly says. “A reenergized Chris Traeger is a frightening thought, but that’s what you are going to see.” Hmmm…whomever could it be?!

And on Parks and Rec, Andy’s FBI alter ego Burt Macklin makes a triumphant return during May sweeps to find out who tried to pie Leslie at a campaign event. Also, there’s a rather shocking hook-up on the horizon!

PARKS IN THE PAST? | Fret not, Knope lovers. Schur says that regardless of how the election pans out — which, win or lose, could put the politico on “a perhaps different, unknown path” — Leslie won’t be leaving her Parks post. “City Council jobs are part time, so there’s no scenario in which she would disappear from the department,” the EP assures.

To steal a term from Community, Jerry may have totally “Britta’d” Leslie’s campaign. Jim O’Heir (who portrays the office doof) tells us, “Jerry is behind a huge mishap — huge! — that could potentially alter the entire election.” Any guesses?
STAR POWER | “We have one scene coming up with Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Kathryn Hahn, Rashida Jones and Adam Scott,” Schur gushes. “That is like the cast of a giant feature film that you would kill to make!” Rudd is set to make his return during the big debate episode (which airs April 26 and was written and directed by Poehler), and, teases Schur, “A lot of giant, eventful things happen when he’s around.”

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, Tom and Ann the couple (or whatever they are) are here to stay. “They’re not staring deep into each others’ eyes and mooning over each other,” Schur explains. “But we find them funny together… Ann is constantly wondering what she’s doing and breaking up with Tom, while he is constantly doing stupid things to impress her. So, we’re going to keep them loosely connected for as long as we think it’s funny.” And what about Chris, the hopeless romantic who may still be crushing on Ann? All Schur will say is that, “He’ll soon make a decision about what he wants in his life, and go for it!”

Josie: Are Ann and Tom still together on Parks and Rec? I love them.
Yes! And when the show returns on April 19, we get to go somewhere we’ve never gone before, courtesy of their relationship: inside Tom’s apartment. But before you think we’ll be seeing Tom (Aziz Ansari) and his boo’s after-hours relations, just know that it’s Ann (Rashida Jones) and Leslie (Amy Poehler) who take us on a tour of his pad. Plus, someone drops the big “L” word! And shockingly enough, it’s not Tom.

Prepare yourself for this awesome bomb that’s coming straight at your face: April and Andy offspring. Boom! “There’s always a chance,” Chris Pratt told us when we brought up kids for the couple. “I’ve been pushing for it. I think it’d be hilarious! It sounds like it’d be a whole story in itself.” The one downside that he is not on board with? “Babies are terrible at improv comedy,” Pratt reveals. Just hire some animatronic babies and call it a day!

If you had to call it, do you think Leslie’s going to win the election on Parks? — Alyssa
If I had to guess, I’d say yes. That’s 100 percent uninformed speculation. Actually, it’s informed speculation. (But speculation nonetheless.) Allow me to share this tease I grabbed when I asked Amy Poehler a similar what-if scenario question: “Well, what’s exciting about our show is that things change,” she said. “We don’t do a lot of resetting. We don’t reset every episode and we don’t reset every season, So when big changes are happening and coming, everything changes! So I’m really excited about what those are, but I don’t want to spoil anything else.” #Knope2012

Am I the only one who likes Tom and Ann together on Parks and Recreation? Please tell me Chris won’t get in the way. — Rachel
NATALIE: Don’t worry, Chris will set his sights on someone else soon. Unfortunately, she works for Bobby Newport, aka The Enemy.

Kyle in Atlanta: Anything on Parks and Rec?
While we adore Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), a Bobby Newport win means Paul Rudd sticks around on Parks and Rec, which would be just fine with us. Do you know how far his team is willing to go to make sure he’s elected? As far as installing state-of-the-art voting machines that pretty much bribe Pawnee residents to vote for Bobby. Oh, and that Chris (Rob Lowe) and Ann (Rashida Jones) situation? Don’t count them out as a romantic pairing quite yet…

Got any scoop on the Parks and Recreation election? — Dan
NATALIE: When Leslie puts her foot in her mouth and calls Bobby Newport’s dad Nick a jerk — just moments after he dies — the election will take a turn for the ugly. Look for Donna to save the day by sacrificing the thing she loves the most. Prepare to grab some tissues!

Bradley Whitford will guest star in an upcoming episode of Parks and Recreation, Huffington Post reports, playing Pawnee’s departing city councilman whose seat Leslie is vying for. Unfortunately, the West Wing alum will not share any scenes with former co-star Rob Lowe.

Noa: What can you tell me about Louie C.K’s return to Parks and Recreation? Will there be a scene with Ben that’s worth watching over five times (the regular amount for the average Parks and Rec scene)?
We see your scene with Ben (Adam Scott) and Officer Dave (C.K.) and raise you a scene with Ben, Dave and Leslie (Amy Poehler). That’s awkward all on its own, but when you add the fact that Ben and Leslie have to ask Dave a favor…well, you’ll be rewinding that scene at least seven times. Plus, Leslie needs a campaign song and Andy’s writing it. Comedic. Gold.

“There are certainly people affected by [Tom and Ann's relationship],” Schur reveals. “Most specifically is April. Because she’s the person who got them together, they’re constantly complaining about each other to her, and she decides the only way she can get through it is to get drunk. So she gets really really drunk at 4 in the afternoon. It’s sort of an April, Tom and Ann triangle as far as who’s affected.”

Question: Parks and Recreation is my favorite show, so is it wrong of me that I don’t want Leslie to win the election? It seems like it will completely ruin the snow and separate the characters. After all, it’s called Parks and Recreation! —Sara
Ausiello: Would it make you feel better if I told you the odds of her winning went from 50/50 to 1-in-4? That’s right, Paul Rudd’s Bobby Newport isn’t her only competition in the race for city council. We’ll learn in an upcoming debate-themed episode that Leslie is also up against a trigger-happy far-right local gun shop owner as well as local porn star Brandi Maxxx.

“So far we’ve been under the impression that you can either “Vote Knope” or vote for Rudd’s character Bobby Newport and eat a “Bobby Bar” (his Dad made them!) in the race for Pawnee’s 2012 City Council. But did you know that the fourth most obese city in America has more hidden candidates running in this election? In episode 20, titled “The Debate,” we’ll get to meet Fester Trim, a very stern man who owns the local Gun Emporium, as well as Manrico, a fella who loves animals (but hates children). You’ve still got our vote Leslie!”

“If we can help it,” Offerman told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival when asked if there would be a chance to bring back one of his character’s former wives, both named Tammy (one played by his real-life wife, Megan Mullally, and the other by Oscar nominee Patricia Clarkson). “I know that there’s one juicy story coming up in the fall for Tammy Two, the evil Tammy Two [Mullally].”

But until then, Offerman, offscreen, will be wearing another hat. He recently wrote one of the show’s upcoming episodes, and in addition to some more Knope-related election excitement there will also be a shakeup in his character’s romantic life.

“Oh gosh. It was so fun and exciting and crazy. The episode is called ‘Lucky.’ Leslie Knope gets this really lucky interview with sort of the Anderson Cooper of Indianapolis. But then the interview is canceled and it comes back on, and some hilarity ensues,” he explained. “Meanwhile, Ron Swanson and Chris Traeger are vying for the attentions of Andy Dwyer’s women’s studies college professor. It’s very funny.”

I love Paul Rudd on Parks and Recreation? Is it bad that I’m secretly rooting for Bobby Newport to win just so he’ll stick around? — Marcus
NATALIE: No, we’re all thinking it. But also think about this: A Bobby Newport victory would be bad on several counts. First off, Chris would be out of a job! See, Bobby isn’t too pleased that Chris has been backing Leslie’s campaign, so if he wins, Chris is the first person he plans to get rid of.

Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben’s (Adam Scott) relationship is going to be tested, y’all! We caught up with Scott, who tells us Leslie’s campaign will test their relationship “in a variety of ways.” “They’ve come up with a really great way of letting the relationship grow in ways you don’t see on half-hour comedies that often,” he says. “It’s really great.” One obstacle? The return of Louis C.K.! “It’s a very interesting episode for the three of us,” Scott teases.

Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) will guest star in a spring episode that puts the spotlight on Leslie’s (Amy Poehler) campaign for city council.

Hayes will play a revered TV journalist who the locals refer to affectionately as “the Matt Lauer of Indianapolis.” His character lands a big interview with Leslie, potentially boosting her election prospects. Or not. Rumor has it the high profile chat doesn’t go as smoothly as Leslie would have liked.

What’s coming up for Leslie and Ben on Parks and Recreation? — Maggie
NATALIE: “Ben is going to try to figure out what to do with his life,” executive producer Mike Schur tells us. “We’ll see him pursuing hobbies that he’s always wanted to pursue. He’s starting to grow a beard and wearing a Letters to Cleo concert T-shirt from 1996 and he’s in couch potato mode. Leslie and her new Bad News Bears team put together their first event to relaunch the campaign and those two stories will intersect in a way that will explain the rest of the season.”

“TV Guide Magazine has learned exclusively that Parks and Recreation is set to host a living legend when comedy icon Carl Reiner guest stars as one of Pawnee’s most powerful elders —and possibly a key player in Leslie’s City Council campaign.

“Our research shows that, especially in local elections, really the only people who vote are senior citizens,” says executive producer Mike Schur. “It’s amazing. A very, very high percentage are retirees. So Leslie does an event at a senior center in hopes of winning the senior vote and [Reiner] is this sort of Godfather type figure — he’s really the main guy who’s endorsement you need to lock down. It’s super cool. We are really excited.”

Reiner’s appearance is tentatively set for the season’s 17th episode, which will also mark the beginning of Free Agents survivor Kathryn Hahn’s recurring role as the advisor to Leslie’s political rival.”

As Leslie scales back her office hours to hit the campaign trail, there’ll be a need to hire an extra hand at the P&R Department, and you can imagine the two very different styles of job interviews offered by Chris versus Ron. (For one, a candidate named Tammy is promptly dismissed.) Meanwhile, as Leslie presses the flesh in her bid for a city council seat, the rival candidate’s campaign manager (to be played by Kathryn Hahn) will prove quite formidable — if not downright crafty/wily, especially when it comes to targeting Pawnee’s electoral sweet spot: the “gray vote” (aka old folks).

In an upcoming episode, Ann (Rashida Jones) will become one half of the most unlikely pairings you’ve ever seen on the show. Before you ask, the other half is not Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz). (But, wow, that’d be amazing.) Think shorter.

Leslie’s Christmas gift to Ron makes him “a little misty-eyed.”

“While Leslie multi-tasks, creating new condiments, holding citizen committee meetings, and trying to come up with ways to ‘improve’ Pawnee, the Parks Department, led by Ann brainstorms what they can do for Leslie to make her holiday just as special as she makes their everyday. Even Ron gets in the spirit and ultimately comes up with the basis of the winning idea. It’s so touching, and also, of course, hilarious, to watch him be a fish out of water with their miniature arts and crafts projects.

The episode takes quite a turn when the gang decides to build a small scale version of the Parks Department, replicating their own offices in gingerbread form, though. People you wouldn’t expect– like April get oddly into it, creating the perfect marshmallow versions of co-workers, while Ron Swanson humbles himself because for once, he has trouble building something. It appears Leslie more than cracked his hard gingerbread exterior with her perfect present because he’s crumbling under the emotions of the Christmas season. His facial expressions are absolutely priceless. At one point we think we saw a lip quiver.

But don’t assume the gingerbread office is going to be a turning point for Leslie, making her realize just how good she has it in her current position and changing her mind about running for city council. What it really proves is that when these sometime screw-ups and always wacky parks warriors work together, they can make magic and actually inspire her more.

Now that Ben and Leslie are back together on Parks & Recreation, will her ex try to stir up trouble? — Kate
NATALIE: That’s exactly what Dave (Louis C.K.) is going to do. When Ben and Leslie seek Dave’s help in getting the police department’s endorsement for her campaign, Dave will confess that he’s still in love with her. He’ll do anything to get Leslie back, which includes trying to one-up Ben and prove he’s the better man.

Question: Do you have anything on Parks and Recreation? —Brooke
Ausiello: Leslie gets hooked on PCP in Thursday’s episode. The twist? I’m not talking about the addictive narcotic! The scandal-ridden public servant, reeling from her work suspension and campaign collapse, uses her free time to form a militant citizen group, Parks Committee of Pawnee. Her first order of business? Adding Yahtzee to the rec center’s game room. The Christmas-themed outing also features the (hilarious) returns of Ben Schwartz’s sneaker salesman Jean-Ralphio and Jason Mantzoukas’ fragrance mogul Dennis Feinstein, and marks the long-awaited introduction of Ron Swanson’s miniature marshmallow doppelganger. (I smell a spinoff! Or at the very least a mid-afternoon snack!)

@hgt_love06: any more cute Ben/Leslie to look forward to or are they on the back burner this time??
They aren’t on the back burner, but they aren’t the focal point of this week’s episode, either. And yes, they are still adorable. But most importantly, April (Aubrey Plaza) kills the Black Eyed Peas. Kind of. Plus, you will be in tears by the end of the episode. But they are good tears, so don’t worry! And your happy feelings will have nothing to do with Ben (Adam Scott) and Leslie (Amy Poehler). In a surprising twist, Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) was the man who made us cry at the end of the episode. It’s a can’t miss!
